Jin’s Room
Jin’s Room
Kame and Yamapi are already in Jin’s room when Sumi got there. Both begin to clap as she enters. They’re looking at her with smiles on their face.
Sumi stares at them confused.
Kazuya gets up from the couch and pats Sumi’s head. “Good job. You’re tougher than we thought.” he says smiling.
Yamapi adds, “I thought you hated Jin; so, why are you trying to make him proud of you?”
“Proud? I didn’t do it for him; I did it for myself,” she replies. “Besides, why are you guys on my side? I just insulted his girlfriend. Why would he be proud?” she asks them confused.
Yamapi and Kame looks at each other and smiles. “Girlfriend?” Yamapi begins to laugh just thinking about how ridiculous it is. Sumi is more confused than ever. She can’t figure out what’s so funny about what she said.
Kame, trying to control his laughter, says, “Jin doesn’t have girlfriend. It’s like a foreign word to him. He has friends who are girls with benefits.”
After a minute or two, the two finally stops laughing. Sumi finally remembers what she wanted to ask them. “The maid said that there’s gonna be a party tonight.” she says.
“Yeah” Kazuya replies. “Jin’s making sure everything is perfect cause all the b…” Yamapi clears his throat to stop him from talking.
Sumi looks at Kazuya and asks, “All the what? You were gonna say bosses, weren’t you?”
Neither of the guys said a word.
“One of the maids said that the bosses are gonna be here tonight. What did she mean by bosses?” she asks.
Yamapi replies, “I think Jin should…”
Jin walks in and asks, “I should what?”
Yamapi continues, “You should be the one to answer her questions.”
Jin completely ignores Yamapi and turns to Sumi, “There’s gonna be a party tonight, and I want you to stay in here.”
Sumi still hyped up by her victory over Leah, sarcastically answers, “What’s the matter, dear? You’re not gonna show me off as your trophy?”
Jin ignores her sarcasm and continues, “The door will be locked from outside, but it can be opened from in here. Don’t let anyone in unless it’s me, Tomohisa or Kazuya. Don’t even think of sneaking out cause there’s gonna be someone guarding the door.”
Hatsumi is looking away pretending not to listen to Jin. She looks at him and answers, “Why, are you scared that your guests will find out that you’re actually a sick, twisted, pervert?”
Jin moves closer to Sumi; their bodies are touching. He places his hand on her shoulder and gently pulls down the strap of her dress; then, he whispers, “I don’t think it would be appropriate to show them what we did last time.”
Sumi pushes him away and spits at his face. Jin wipes it off as Sumi yells out, “I hate you!” She pound on his chest and begins to cry.
Same Day
Early That Morning
Imperial High School (Shibuya)
“Yuya, you’re not gonna cut class again are you?” Kota asks as Yuya hands his keys to the valet and tells the attendant to get his coat.
“No one else is doing anything,” Yuya replies, “I’m not just gonna sit here and wait for some news about Sumi.”
“Look. I’m not telling you to forget about her, but you need to take a rest. You barely eat. You barely sleep. You’re gonna get yourself killed,” Kota argues.
“I don’t care,” Yuya replies. “I need to save her.” The valet arrives with Yuya’s car.
“Well, we care. Me, Kei, Shizuka and your parents. Do you think Sumi would be happy if she found out that you got hurt looking for her?” Kota asks.
Yuya remains silent. He lets out a deep sigh and tells the valet to return his car to the parking lot. He wants to find Hatsumi, but he knows that Kota is right. Yuya’s been cutting classes since Sumi disappeared, and when the police pulled out of the search, he started looking at night too.
Yabu smiles in relief and says, “Come on. Let’s go find Kei. I bet the detective that he hired found new information about the kidnappers.”
Yuya begins to walk ahead and Yabu catches up with him. On their way back to the classroom, Yuya overhears two students talking about the newspaper.
“Hey look at this.” says the girl to the guy. “It says here that Fujiwara Hatsumi wasn’t kidnapped. I wonder where she is.”
“Haven’t you heard about her financial situation?” says the guy. “She’s broke. I bet she’s just hiding somewhere for publicity. I think she’s just trying to get money.”
Yuya stops and rolls his hands into fists. He takes a deep breath and walks towards the guy with the newspaper. Yuya grabs him by the collar and slams him against the wall. “What did you say?” he asks.
“Umm…uh…” the guy can’t say a word. Yuya is staring right at him. The guy looks at Kota begging for help.
Yabu places his hand on Yuya’s shoulder and says, “Yuya that’s enough. He’s not even worth it.”
Yuya loosens his grip and puts the guy down. As he’s about to walk away he hears the guy murmur, “It’s not like it’s not true.” Yuya turns around and knock the guy down with a single punch. He looks at the guy and says, “Don’t you fucking talk bad about Sumi again.” He raises his voice for everyone to hear, “If anybody here has something bad to say about Sumi, let me hear it.”
That Night
Akanishi Mansion
Akanishi Mansion
Ballroom
Jin is standing in the middle of the room welcoming everyone with Leah clinging to his arm. The whole ballroom is filled with people in elegant clothes. Most of them are men. Most of the women there are dressed in what Hatsumi would classify as “Leah Dizon’s Style.”
When everyone is finally seated, Jin stands up to make a toast. “To our beloved Kumicho. May he live longer and more prosperous each passing year,” he says.
Everyone raises their glasses and says, “To our beloved Kumicho.”; then, a round of applause follows.
The old man in a hakama (traditional Japanese clothing) stands up and raises his glass. He clears his throat and the whole room becomes silent. “To our family. May we grow stronger every passing day. And to Jin, the new shateigashira (second lieutenant) of Shibuya.”
Everyone raises their glass for the second time and cheers, “To the family and to Akanishi.”
After dinner almost everyone is on the dance floor. Jin is sitting next to the old man (the Kumicho). “Jin,” he says, “order and loyalty are the foundations of our family. I’m giving you this position because I know what you’re capable of. I raised you myself; you’re like a son to me.” He places a hand on Jin’s shoulder and continues, “I have high expectations of you.”
Jin bows and says, “Thank you Kumicho. I promise to do my best.”
The old man replies, “Good, but now that you’re the new shateigashira of Shibuya, you have to be more aware of the people around you. I know that Tomohisa and Kazuya will always be loyal to you.” he looks at Leah who’s dancing with someone and says, “but be careful. Pick out the snakes in your coop before they bite you.”
Jin’s phone rings, but he doesn’t answer it. It’s disrespectful to do so in the presence of the kumicho.
The old man looks at Jin and says, “Go ahead answer it. I don’t think anyone would mind.”
Jin excuses himself and answers the phone, “Hello. Kazuya?”
Earlier, he has sent Kame to check on Sumi.
“Jin she’s gone. You better get here fast,” Kazuya says worried.
The old man sees Jin’s expression and says, “If it’s your woman go to her. Don’t even hesitate if she’s in trouble.”
Jin gets up and bows. “Thank you kumicho,” he says then dashes off.
Yamapi sees Jin and runs after him. He asks panting, “What’s going on?”
“She’s missing,” Jin replies.
Jin’s Room
The whole room is a mess. Ripped pillows are on the ground, wine is spilled on the floor and a few vases are smashed on the floor. It looks as if a tornado hit the room, and Hatsumi is nowhere to be found.
“She was gone when I got here,” Kazuya continues, “ and the guard’s been knocked out.”
Jin sees Sumi’s necklace on the floor and picks it up. He kicks the table next to him and yells out, “Where the hell could she be?” He places his hand on his forehead.
“Maybe she can help us.” Yamapi walks in with one of the maids. He gives her a small push forward.
The maid tells them that she saw Leah with a huge man heading for Jin’s room; so, she followed them. The big man knocked out the guard and carried Sumi out of the room. “She struggled for a bit,” she says. “I’m really sorry. I know I should have stopped them.” The maid begins to weep.
“Why didn’t you tell any of us about it sooner?” Jin yells out in frustration. He punches the wall and looks at the maid, “Where did they take her?”
The maid stutters with fear, “He… He carried her to Hideaki-sama’s guest room.”
Jin, without even thinking, dashes out of the room as fast as he could. Kame and Yamapi could barely catch up.
During the Party
Sumi is lying on the couch, bored, when she hears a loud noise outside the door. She was hoping to see Kazuya who promised to bring her some food from the party. Sumi gets up to see who it is. When the door swings open, she sees Leah with a man about six feet tall with a huge frame and big arms.
“What are you doing here with the hideous hulk?” Sumi mocks.
“Funny,” Leah answers sarcastically. “I’m just her to collect debts,” she adds as she signals the man to take Sumi.
Sumi begins to run and accidentally knocks down the wine stand. The man, frustrated and tired of running, throws a vase almost hitting Sumi. Leah laughs as she watches the man catch Sumi and carry her on his shoulder.
“Oh this is very original.” Sumi says sarcastically. “Where are you taking me?”
“Just be quiet and be a good little girl,” Leah says and laughs out loud.
Leah leads the man in front of a huge door. Before they went inside, Leah takes out a roll of duck tape to covers Sumi’s mouth, and to bind her wrists and ankles.
Hatsumi mumbles, “Let me go.”
Leah just smiles and says, “What? I’m sorry sweetie, can you repeat that? You’ve gotta stop mumbling cause I can’t understand.” She walks inside the room and heads for the guy sitting by the bed. “Hideaki-sama,” she says and gives him a kiss in the cheek. “It’s an honor to be here.”
“The pleasure is all mine.” he gazes at her eyes as he kisses her hand; then, he walks towards the man and looks at Sumi. “And what’s this?” he asks in a delighted tone.
Leah follows Hideaki-san and says, “She’s a gift from me and Jin.”
“How the mighty has fallen,” he says. “If I’m not mistaken, this is the daughter of the late Fujiwara Tsuyoshi.”
Sumi looks at him with fear as his finger draws a line. It started slowly on the tip of her nose, down her lips, then slowly down her neck until it stops between her breasts.
“Well I guess we should be going,” Leah says. “I hope you enjoy your present.”
She walks to Sumi and whispers, “Have fun. He’s a little rough so try not to make him angry.” She gives Sumi a kiss on the cheek. “Bye,” she says as she walks out of the door. The big man lays Sumi on the bed and heads out.
As Sumi lies on the bed, Hideaki loosens his tie and unbuttons his shirt. He begins to kiss her legs then slowly makes his way to her thighs. His kisses continues to move up, each hungrier than the first. He makes his way to her breast then her neck. He stokes her hair as she tries to push him off. Sumi tries to scream as he unzips her dress. He pulls it down gently and begins to unhook her bra. She can’t do anything but cry as he takes it off and flings it away. He kisses her on the mouth and Sumi tries to look away. He gets angry and grabs her hair. “Look at me,” he says.
Suddenly, Hideaki-san is pulled from behind. Sumi hears a loud punch followed by a thud. She sees Jin walking towards her. He helps her off the bed; then, he takes his jacket off and covers her with it. When he’s about to take the tape off of Sumi’s lips, Hideaki gets up and punches Jin on the face, making his lips bleed.
“What the hell’s the matter with you?” Hideaki-san yells out. “You can have her back when I’m done.”
Jin wipes the blood off his lower lip and says, “I’m not into sharing these days.” He kicks Hideaki and knocks him down. Jin picks him up by the collar and punches him continuously.
Kame and Yamapi arrive and stop the fight.
Kame holds Jin back as Yamapi helps Hideaki-san up. “You’ll pay for this Akanishi,” Hideaki threatens Jin.
Sumi, shocked, confused, terrified and shaking with fear, sits at a corner crying. Jin walks towards her and takes the tape off her mouth. Sumi just weeps as he lifts her up and carries her out of the room.
Akanishi’s Room
Sumi, still in shock, can’t figure out why Jin saved her. She clings onto him like glue. Jin called the maids in to tend to Sumi. She couldn’t let go of him; she’s terrified that something worse might happen. After the maids dressed her and laid her in Jin’s bed, she holds Jin’s hand tightly. She didn’t let go even when she fell asleep. Her desperate need of a protector made her forget of how much she loathes Jin.
When she finally falls asleep, Jin joins Kazuya and Yamapi in the sitting area in his room.
“What the hell were you thinking?” Yamapi asks. “Hideaki-san is a wakagashira (first lieutenant). Even though Kumicho sees you as his own son, there will still be consequences.”
“I know that,” Jin replies.
“He’s gonna get you back before Kumicho even decides your punishment. I’m sure he’s gonna want her too,” Yamapi continues.
“What are we gonna do now?” Kazuya asks in a low voice. “How are we gonna manage in Shibuya and protect her here at the same time.”
“She wants to go home, right? Then we’ll take her with us. It’s about time for my so-called brother to see what I’ve been working on,” Jin replies with a grin.
